We did not know Ptoppir was in season until she was almost breedable - therefore, we had not separated her from Pfalcon. To be safe, we DNAd the litter to make sure that no secret rendezvous had taken place - DNA confirmed that Pfalcon & Ptoppir had indeed not had any secret meetings, and that Brave was in fact the father of all the puppies as planned.

Five days after Vela returned from Maryland from breeding to Brave,  Vela decided that she would like to breed to her grandfather and housemate, Pfalcon.  Although we suspected this breeding was done after Vela was out of season,  there was no way to be certain without DNA testing the entire litter.  In fact,  Vela was out of season when Pfalcon bred her and all the pups are in fact Brave puppies. Following is the DNA Parentage Evaluation on the Brave-Vela litter.
