Brookman is a very outgoing, happy and fun-loving puppy. She is extremely smart and very active. She usually has something in her mouth, loves to retrieve and loves to play with other dogs and to make her toys squeak.  At puppy K,  she had difficulty focusing when surrounded by potential playmates, earning her the reputation of "class clown"!   We wanted her name to relate to her mom's name, so we tied her name to the movie How To Marry A Millionaire  in which Lauren Bacall, Marilyn Monroe and Betty Grable set out to marry millionaires. Monroe and Grable fall in love with men who are "non-holding". Bacall falls in love with Tom Brookman, who Bacall thinks is a poverty-stricken gas pump jockey, but who unbeknownst to  her is actually a millionaire. Bacall tells Brookman she never wants to see him again because he is non-holding. However, at the alter to be wed to marry millionaire J.D. Hanley, Bacall makes a last minute decision to call off the wedding, choosing Brookman over Hanley, and love over money. Brookman is shocked to learn what has happened when Hanley congratulates him saying  "There was a delayed decision in your favor".  I won't spoil the final scene, but rest assured Bacall and her girlfriends are shocked to learn who Brookman really is! This classic 1953 film is worth watching!  With eight girls in this litter, it was not easy to decide which puppy should stay with us  so we did make a delayed decision when the pups were eight weeks old! Nicknames to date are Brookie,  Brook and Ookie  - there likely will be more to come because Bruce can't help himself!
